Updates for participants in the CLARITY IBD Study

Thank you very much for taking part in the CLARITY IBD study.

We have made some minor changes to the study which are included in the latest version of the Patient Information Sheet.

​

In summary we would like you to have a COVID-19 antibody test (blood test) carried out every 8 weeks if:

1. You have had a positive COVID-19 antibody test as part of the CLARITY IBD study

2. You have ever had a positive COVID-19 nasal PCR test, even if this was before you joined the CLARITY IBD study

3. You have received a COVID-19 vaccination.

These blood tests will be taken when you attend for your scheduled infusions or appointments and may not occur exactly at 8 weekly intervals.

If you have not had a positive COVID-19 antibody test, or a positive nasal PCR test, and have not yet been vaccinated then blood tests will be scheduled at weeks 16, 32 and 40

In addition we would like to know if and when you are vaccinated and the specific vaccine you have received. This will allow us to monitor your response to vaccination. Please let us know your vaccination information using the link you have already been sent. 

These changes to the study have been approved by the ethics committee overseeing this study. However if you have any concerns please report these using the link you have been sent which will alert your local research team.
